As a psychotherapist, clinical social worker, acupuncturist, and mindfulness instructor, I bring a wealth of experience spanning over three decades to my practice. My mission is to help individuals achieve balance in their physical, emotional, social, work, and family lives.
Professional Background: I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2006 and a Licensed Acupuncturist for over three decades. My career includes executive-level experience in nonprofit management, where I served as the Clinical Director for 18 years at Westside Regional Center. During my tenure, I focused on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, co-occurring behavioral and chronic health conditions. Additionally, I was the volunteer Executive Director for five years at the Achievable Health Center, leading the development of the first Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) serving individuals with developmental disabilities and other medically underserved populations.
Research and Community Impact: I have led research teams that facilitated community-based programs focusing on mindfulness, fitness, safety, and mental health resource development. Our efforts resulted in positive outcomes published in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the well-being of the community.
Current Practice: Transitioning into private practice in 2017, I offer psychotherapy services, clinical social work and mindfulness practice facilitation for individuals and groups. My educational background includes a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on older adults, coupled with extensive experience as an acupuncturist and herbalist, specializing in health optimization.
Specialties and Approach: My current focus includes brain and health optimization for prevention and addressing issues of aging. With personal and professional experience in integrative healthcare, mental health care, and team building, I am committed to supporting individuals and families along their wellness journey.
Therapeutic Specialties: I specialize in providing support for coping skills, stress management, life transitions, and coaching for the future. My mindful therapeutic approach addresses a range of issues, including individual and family stressors related to Alzheimer's, other neurocognitive disorders, and developmental disabilities as well as anxiety, depression, family stress, grief, self-esteem and relationship issues.
Service Details: I offer telehealth services (video/phone) exclusively to clients residing in California under my LCSW and LAC California licenses. Please note that acupuncture services are not currently available. My practice operates on an hourly fee-for-service basis, and I do not accept insurance.
Get Started: If you're ready to embark on your journey towards a healthier lifestyle, I invite you to reach out and see if my approach is the right fit for you.
Personal Interests: In addition to my professional endeavors, I enjoy traveling with my husband, spending quality time with my adult son with autism, and practicing the principles of balance in mind and body for a healthy life.
